Fifth-Grade Celebration

May 11 is the last day to send in pictures for the slide show for the Fifth-Grade Celebration. As a reminder, we will not be able to accept pictures with bunny ears or peace signs; only school activity pictures will be accepted. Thank you! The fifth graders also will be having their pictures taken for the slide show on May 11, so if they would like to wear something special they can!  The official date for the celebration has not been announced yet. We are waiting to see if some of our snow days will be waived. The moment we know, we will let you know so that you may plan accordingly. Our theme is “Our Future is Looking Bright,” with Hawaiian decor.

It’s not too late to be part of the committee! If you would like to  join, or if you have any questions, feel free to contact Kim Dayley at thedayleyz@gmail.com

Congratulations, Silver Firs!

Silver Firs Elementary is a recipient of the 2011 Washington Achievement Award. The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education created the Washington Achievement Award to celebrate our top-performing schools and to recognize achievement in multiple categories. This highly selective award is based on each school’s performance according to the Washington Achievement Index, a comprehensive measurement of how schools in Washington are performing over time.  The Washington Achievement Award is given to elementary, middle, high, and comprehensive schools in seven different categories: overall excellence, language arts, math, science, extended graduation rate (high and comprehensive schools only), improvement, and closing achievement gaps. Silver Firs Elementary is being recognized for Overall Excellence.
